Make your retirement years
the best years of your life!
Journey to Your Next Stage
This multi-session, small group workshop brings pre- and early retirees to a higher level of thinking about and planning for their retirement journey.
Participants uncover their unique strengths, try on potential identities, develop priorities and strategies, and select a path forward. Each person creates a retirement life that embraces his/her values and passions.
The workshop becomes a small community, sharing ideas and feedback and supporting one another in their personal journeys.
WHAT STUDENTS SAY:
I had a lot of nebulous thoughts about what I would do in my next stage. The course made my ideas more concrete and real. I found the interaction with everybody else to be very helpful, to hear the diversity of thought, and to share the journey. Other courses around retirement focus on the financial preparations. This course is a good place to get started on the preparation for life.
Brian K., 58, actuary, working full-time but retiring in 2 years
This course helped me to focus and expand my horizons. I am in a better place than I was before. I have a lot more confidence that I can identify specific things that I can get serious about. The group was also helpful. I would definitely recommend this course.
Peter C., 74, attorney, winding down law practice
For almost two years before this class, I tried to figure out what retirement meant to me. Your course is like getting a degree in retirement. I now have tools to deal with change. I learned that there’s more to retirement than to-do and bucket lists. Now, after the course, I feel I’ve completed the pre-retirement phase, and I really am excited about doing what I want to do. I recommend this course to anyone who has concern about the future quality of their life.
Stefan S., 66, business owner, semi-retired
I enjoyed the clarity and discussion and thoughtfulness. Most valuable for me was the planning so that I can make my passions happen.
Tom C., career counselor, semi-retired
I was very, very satisfied with the course. One of my early “ah ha” moments was that I spend a lot more time planning for the financial aspect of my retirement than I do planning for what I really want to do, what gives me joy. Mark helped me put that in focus and led me through strategies to close the gap in my planning.
Beth E., 63, marketing manager, working full time but planning for retirement or possible layoffs

OUR BEST YEARS
with Lucy Rose Fischer, PHD, artist, author and gerontologist
We are living at a time of Age Revolution. With people routinely living longer than ever before in history, the post-retirement stage of life can be almost as long as working years. It’s time for a radical re-thinking about this stage of life. Using a combination of research, practical information, personal stories, and vivid illustrations, this workshop will show how our older years can be the best time of life.
